Dr. Takao Someya is Executive Director and Vice President (responsibility: start-up, value of knowledge) and Professor of the University of Tokyo. He is recognized as an inventor of electronic skins, which were featured by Time Magazine as one of the best inventions of the year in 2005. After he earning his doctorate in engineering from the University of Tokyo, he was appointed Global Scholar at Princeton University, GlobalFoundaries Visiting Professor at National University of Singapore, Hans Fischer Senior Fellow at Technical University of Munich, Dean of Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo. He is the 2024 President of Materials Research Society (MRS) in the US.
