In her previous role as Senior Partner of Transformation Services at Virginia Mason Institute, she delivered large scale transformational system improvements that align with organizational strategy and vision. She is passionate about continuous improvement as a means of cultivating and empowering leaders and frontline employees into high-functioning teams to accelerate collaborative problem-solving at micro and macro levels that address the exponential changes in the healthcare industry. Melissa is certified in the Virginia Mason Production System® and in TapRoot Root-Cause Analysis. With her continuous improvement foundations originating from The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice, where she earned her master’s degree, she is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality.
