Laura Macció graduated in biology from the Science School, UdelaR, she worked as a microbiology research assistant in projects with national animal health companies where she saw the difficulties the industry had to access timely quality supplies and decided to start her own company, ARAVANLABS was born in 2014, has not stopped growing since, offering the national industry innovative microbiology products and services. It played an important role in the assurance of availability of supplies needed during the COVID-19 health emergency. In 2022, she founded her second startup: metaBIX Biotech's technology predicts emerging pathogens and microbiological risks in the agri-food sector from environmental samples. It is already considered one of the most promising Latin American start ups.
