Kelly Connolly

Speaker
Associate Director of Program Management, R&D Operations and Strategy

Kelly has spent the last 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry focused primarily in oncology therapeutics. Her career began in the pre-clinical in vivo pharmacology drug discovery space at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. She has additional oncology drug discovery experience prosecuting antibodies at AVEO oncology, mRNA inhibitors at Moderna and degraders at C4 Therapeutics.  In 2017, Kelly transitioned away from the lab bench and into project management. Her current focus is to partner with project leads and research teams to ensure cross functional communication and collaboration, develop and maintain project timelines, as well as identify and manage risks. She utilizes these and other project management best practices as teams bring molecules from late stage discovery to the clinical development candidate stage.  She is currently an Associate Director of Program Management, in the R&D Operations and Strategy group at Relay Therapeutics. She completed a B.S. in Biology at Brandeis University, an M.S. in Biology/Chemical Engineering at Tufts University and the Project Management Certificate Program at Boston University. Kelly sits on Relay's Diversity and Inclusion sounding board and regularly volunteers to mentor and work with scientists aiming for careers in the pharmaceutical industry. Kelly was previously a mentor for Boston University's Broadening Experience in Scientific Training (BEST) and has been an active mentor with the STEM Hub for Industry Networking and Exchange (S.H.I.N.E.) since 2021.
