Javier Segovia is a Boston-based serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and strategic advisor to startups.
He works with high-potential startups on their product & go-to-market strategies, and to get them funded & growing, taking on roles spanning part-time executive (CXO), board director, strategic advisor or angel investor.
Leveraging his broad experience at the intersection of hardware & software technologies - from consumer electronics & mobile to last mile automation to smart mobility & autonomy - Javier’s current focus is on sustainable living and mobility that make our cities smarter, safer and healthier.
Javier enjoys mentoring entrepreneurs at Harvard’s iLab and Rock Accelerator, MIT Sandbox, Techstars, Village Global and across the Boston and Silicon Valley tech ecosystems. He has served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School and as Judge for several venture competitions.
Previously, Javier founded Tap ‘n Tap, a pioneer in the tablets space that developed an Android-based User Experience & Software stack, with a range of innovations & features that led the way at the dawn of the smart devices era. He has led product, marketing and business development teams for a number of startups, after starting his career in strategy and product in the auto industry.
Javier has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where the team he led won the prestigious New Venture Competition, and mechanical engineering degrees from MIT and Stanford. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, cycling and skiing.
