A hallmark of the recruiting approach is psychological and physical safety for our candidates and employees and Gene’s role is to comport the interview and hiring process to reflects this. Together with the Engineering team, Gene has rolled out interview practices such as resume-less interviews, holistic technical assessments that discourage blunt knockout testing, and culture behavioral approaches to interviewing that allow for our candidates to experience the Broad culture that the Broad strives to build.

Gene holds a BA in History from Brandeis University and an MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University. When not finding talent for the Broad, Gene enjoys spending time with his 4 kids (Derek, Renee, Jason, and Ezra) and wife Gail.
