ABOUT THE SESSION

Innovation in Japan: Millennial Perspectives

Session part of Japan Innovation Night

Come hear Japanese youth speak about their experiences in the growing innovation ecosystems in Japan. Graduate students from MIT and Babson College will be giving PechaKucha* talks about the history of innovation, business and social trends, and the growth of entrepreneurship in Japan.

With a shrinking labor force and rapidly aging population, as well as an increased focus on gender equality in the workplace, Japan will be experiencing huge social and economic shifts in the upcoming decades; how will this generation respond to these changes? What role does innovation play in tackling these challenges? What are some major business opportunities that lie ahead for youth in Japan?

*PechaKucha, which means “chit-chat” in Japanese, is a presentation style using 20 slides which are shown for 20 seconds each. This format allows for concise and fast-paced talks, followed by facilitated discussions.

All sessions will be held in English.
