ABOUT THE SESSION

Cheer on high school entrepreneurs in this very special Pitch Session with TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Academy!

Teams presenting their pitches tonight are:

Aqua-Sol developed a technique that uses a water distribution system to enhance solar panel efficiency and extend the lifespan of solar panels.

Debtify created a web platform to connect college students with the tools and resources necessary to effectively manage and reduce their student loan debt, allowing them to achieve financial stability and reach their personal and professional goals.

TelePark developed a mobile app to revolutionize urban mobility by streamlining the usual tedious parking experience. Telepark guides users straight to available parking spots and offers seamless payment solutions, making frustration over parking a thing of the past.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship through networking, mentorship, education, and funding. Twenty years ago, their Boston chapter created the TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Academy, which is a 7-month in-person program that empowers high school students by teaching them the fundamentals of entrepreneurship through hands-on learning, mentorship, and business plan competitions. Participants meet at CIC Cambridge on alternating Saturdays to learn the fundamentals behind creating a successful start-up and then working in teams (and aided by professional mentors) they develop their own business idea, in preparation for TiE Boston’s Final Pitch Competition in June. Teams compete for cash prizes and the winning team is sent to the TYE Global Finals to represent Boston as they compete against 30 other chapter winners from around the world!

In order to expand access to entrepreneurship education to a wider audience, TYE also offers a Summer Boot Camp for 7th – 9th graders, also hosted by CIC-Cambridge. Two of their recent alumni, Neil Nimgaonkar and Ravi Kumar. are here to explain how they’ve started their own businesses at the ripe age of 13.
