In-person session

March 12, 2020 | 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
ABOUT THE SESSION
We are launching “Virtual Venture Café”. Virtual Venture Cafés will allow us to continue to share the great content produced by the Foundation while we monitor the evolving guidance on COVID-19. Our virtual Connect conference will be broadcasted during our standard Thursday timeframe. Please sign up for our newsletter and check our Event Calendar page for our changing schedule. Follow us on Facebook page and Youtube Channel to be notified when we go live.

Hearing “Can I give you some feedback?” can stir up fear and anxiety. We can quickly go from feeling in control and aware, to getting highly reactive. Often we can’t even stop ourselves from saying or doing something that we’ll regret.

This session is about self-regulation: moving from compulsion to choice when we have a sudden, strong emotional reaction. (Think: Someone pushes your button!) You will leave the session with strategies and tools for resolving difficult emotions to be more resilient.

In this interactive session, you will be able to:

  • Learn how the brain’s “alarm system” can take over when we perceive a threat
  • Practice stopping, being aware, and setting an intention before responding
  • Leave with tools to stay calm and grounded in the heat of the moment
