Bernadette Johnson, Chief Science Officer for Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx)
Johnson is the first Chief Science Officer for DIUx, the innovation cell stood up by the Pentagon to scout great technology companies and find new ways to get them working on military challenges. Before joining DIUx, Johnson was the Chief Technology Officer for the MIT Lincoln Laboratory. She earned a doctorate from Dartmouth in Plasma Physics.
Robert Nelson, District Director of SBA’s Massachusetts Disctict Office
Nelson is responsible for the effective delivery of SBA’s financial and business development programs with a mission to counsel, assist and protect the interest of small business statewide in order to maintain and strengthen the economy. He has 25 years of federal service,19 of which have been with the SBA.
Dan Lilly, Small Business Innovation Research Advisor at the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center
Lilly is an expert at helping small businesses find funding in his 17th year as a SBIR and Government Sales Advisor. He is responsible for designing and implementing a successful statewide SBIR advisory program. Fun fact about Lilly: Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Almond declared a day in November 1995 as Dan Lilly Day.
