More than ever, coordinated international efforts have the potential to develop technologies that tackle global health issues. In recent years, Japanese health officials have outlined their strategies to promote international cooperation, including around the regulation of medical devices. However, barriers still exist, which may delay regulatory approvals and adoption in both countries and slow the spread of life-saving technology.
