Did you know that you need to make over $118,000/yr to afford the median 2 bedroom rent of $2950 in Cambridge? The ever-escalating expense of Greater Boston’s housing market is a constant conversation topic and key driver of our area’s economic future. Our entire nation is facing a dual crisis in housing affordability driven by tight supply and lack of economic opportunity, so how can innovation and advocacy begin to address the crisis at all its pain points–from recent college grads struggling to live near work to BIPOC families priced out of traditionally affordable neighborhoods?
Let’s start where we are. Join Housing Navigator and A Better Cambridge for a 20-minute presentation around advocacy for building more housing and its policy agenda for Cambridge. This session will be informed by information to be made public in October’s Greater Boston Housing Report Card, City of Cambridge demographics, and its own proprietary data. After the presentation, participants will be asked to form break out groups which will provide a chance to dive further into specific challenges and recommend solutions and action. Join us in creating a better Cambridge/Boston for all.
