Programs @ Venture Café


Venture Café offers a variety of programming to help entrepreneurs. We’re here to connect you with key people and resources, learn the fundamentals of starting and scaling a business, knowledge share with the community, and launch successfully. Programming typically occurs on Thursdays between the hours of 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and is free and open to the public.  See below for the types of programming and how to participate in Venture Café programming.

Signature Programs

Open Office Hours

Venture Café Foundation is on a mission to improve the success rate of start-ups and small businesses by offering access to advise from experts free of charge to the community. On a weekly basis entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs have an opportunity to book 30-minute appointments to speak with domain experts.



Community Talks

VenCaf Startup Education Community Talk 300 x 300“Community Talks” are sessions presented by throught-leaders and experts from the  community.  This is your opportunity to share your knowledge on a variety of topics with entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Talks can be organized as a round table, panel talk, workshop, presentation and more.



Small Business Spotlight

Our Local Small Business Spotlight gives Greater Boston area startups operating in the food and beverage space an opportunity to gain exposure for their growing ventures.

Once each month, a spotlight company is selected to appear as our vendor of the day at our legendary bar to share their food or beverages.


Open Mic

Our monthly Open Mic Night happens every first Thursday.

Each month, five participants will be chosen to introduce themselves to the community and huddle with interested parties afterward. Pitchers have 60 seconds to tell the community who they are, what they are working on, what they need help with and how they can help the community.


Startup Demo

Our demos are a great way to showcase your product or service to our community of entrepreneurs, investors, and enterprise innovators.

Typically held during our mini-conference events focused on one industry, 10-15 startups will be selected from among applicants to showcase their ventures to build product awareness, connect to like-minded innovators, and collect user feedback.


Info Table

Info tables are designed for organizations (nonprofits, educational institutions, governmental agencies, etc) to share/promote information about programs, competitions, and events for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Organizations are given a tablespace to share information during our weekly Cafe night on Thursdays.


LAUNCH! Workshop Series

The LAUNCH! Entrepreneur Workshop Series is a new educational program designed to introduce early-stage and aspiring entrepreneurs to key topics and principles to help build, launch, and scale successful businesses. The 8-week series will survey a host of topics from ideation to launch. Each workshop will be taught by successful entrepreneurs and subject-matter experts experienced in building, launching and scaling ventures. This new workshop-style format is designed to have participants leave with practical knowledge that can be immediately applied to their ventures.


SEED Program Series

Venture Cafe's Supply Chain Seed Program Powered by RBSThe Supply Chain Seed Program is a free and flexible mentorship program designed to help early-stage entrepreneurs increase their startup and retail industry IQ as well as build critical relationships on their way to a successful launch. The 10-week program is specifically designed for teams who are working in the areas of the supply chain, food retail logistics, warehouse management, supply chain analytics, and forecasting. Powered by Retail Business Services – the services company of Ahold Delhaize USA, which supports top grocery store brands like Stop & Shop, Giant Food, Food Lion, Peapod and others.



Affinity Groups

Our Affinity Groups are a collection of communities within our ecosystem that give entrepreneurs who share a common identity and/or a desire to advance a specific area an opportunity to knowledge-share during Café. We believe in inclusive entrepreneurship where innovation is for anyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or place of origin. Join one of our communities by participating in one of our series.

Corporate Innovators' Mixer

The Corporate Innovator Mixer is designed to allow  to mingle and meet other executives making strides in corporate innovation and corporate venture capital. Light refreshments will be served.  This biannual mixer is reserved for those working in corporate innovation and corporate venture capital inside large enterprises.


Female Entrepreneurs' Circle

Join us to build real connections and a network with fellow female entrepreneurs in New England. During each event, a special guest will share her story, answer questions and allow plenty of time for networking with other founders.

Founders over 55

Venture Café is excited to introduce its Quarterly Founders over 50 Gathering. According to recent research, the mean age for founders of the fastest-growing startups is 45 years old. This newest series will give experienced founders across New England an opportunity to connect and knowledge-share.


Minorities in Tech

Venture Café Cambridge is pleased to introduce its Quarterly Minority Entrepreneurs Meetup. Join us to knowledge-share and build community with minority entrepreneurs in New England. This series features networking and guest speakers from various diverse and minority backgrounds building and running tech ventures.


Next Level Business Forum

Next Level Business Forum offers “expertise for innovation”. This monthly forum brings together business-owners, coaches, and service providers, for enlightened discussions.

StartHub Founder Series

StartHub Founder Series are monthly gatherings at the Venture Café Cambridge featuring a guest startup speaker from StartHub’s Startup to Watch program. Bringing together the Greater Boston startup community, this free series is a great opportunity for you to get engaged, ask questions, and learn more about what it takes to start a company, all in a casual café setting. Walk-ins are welcome.

Sustainability Collaborative

The Sustainability Collaborative was spurred as an outgrowth of the Sustainability unConference and aims to provide an ongoing platform for collaboration, connections, and solutions generation. On a monthly basis, rotating sustainability advocates are given the chance to facilitate group discussion around central sustainability themes ranging from hunger alleviation to impact investing. The goal is to raise awareness within the innovation community while strengthening the social impact ecosystem.

Veteran Entrepreneur Round table

Join fellow military veteran founders during this monthly roundtable to discuss issues related to building a business. Topics include finding co-founders, finding technical talent, issues raising capital, pitch feedback, or overcoming any hurtle you have in your way. Bring your questions and be ready to give feedback.

Youth CITIES Mini Hack

Youth CITIES Calendar ImageMonthly Youth CITIES Mini-Hacks aim to build solutions to local community issues. Each session addresses one topic by employing a range of decision making and problem-solving styles. Join this month’s Mini-Hack at Venture Café. After a collaborative discussion, each participant will share an elevator pitch version of what is believed to be the best solution. Mini-Hacks are open to middle or high school teens, college students, entrepreneurs, educators, and other professionals.
